Coronavirus: How Do We Prepare?

Coronavirus: How Do We Prepare?

At the time of writing (10th February 2020), the total number of reported cases is 40655 of which the majority remain in China and are amongst the elderly. So far there have been 910 deaths and thankfully (and similar to the SARS virus), children have been fairly unaffected so far. Statistically the mortality rate is just over 2% of those infected and already there have been more deaths than the SARS virus

Symptoms Of Coronavirus (according to WHO):

  • Fever

  • Fatigue

  • Sore throat

  • Shortness of breath

  • Dry cough

Practical Advice For Preventing Its Spread:

  • Place the patient in a well-ventilated room

  • Avoid anything but essential physical contact. Try to always keep a distance of at least 1 metre

  • Appoint 1 caretaker in the family, preferably a young healthy adult

  • Keep other household members in a separate room

  • Limit the movement of the patient and minimize shared space. Make sure shared spaces such as the kitchen and bathroom are well-ventilated by keeping the windows open

Supporting The Immune System: We can’t ignore the significance of a robust immune system in protecting the human organism from fighting the condition and returning it to full health. Statistically, so far the virus is killing about one in 50 infected people, albeit mainly elderly people. We can’t predict the death rate for younger people but it is significantly less than 1 in 50. Ultimately we need to be protected by a strong immune system and there are steps we can take to promote that

How Can We Help Ourselves?

Water is a key factor in maintaining the energy and efficiency of the human organism. It should be as pure as possible, without pesticides, organic compounds, hormones, and water processing chemicals. Water from glass bottles is preferable, and carbon filters are effective purifiers

Can Nature Provide? We should not ignore the benefits of modern medicine, but nature is a wonderful provider. Modern food has been so altered that nature is unable to fully achieve its healing objective. Depleted soils create depleted plant materials, which not only affect us directly, but also provide inadequate nutrition to the animals we eat

Supplementation Becomes Necessary: This is where choices become very important. Nature has not created us to recognize nutrients in a chemical/synthetic form, yet virtually all so-called “natural” supplements are created this way, and they do not support the immune system in the same way food nutrients do. We can only truly benefit from nutrients in a food form, and that is exactly what we create with the foodstate products, making them much easier to absorb, use and retain in the body

4 Products That Help Support A Healthy Immune System: https://www.thefoodstatecompany.com/immune-boosting-package

Multivitamin: A food based broad-spectrum with minerals and trace elements

Multi-Anti-oxidant: Food based formula with Co-Q10, Vitamin C and E, Zinc, Selenium and Bioflavinoids, which reduce harmful free radicals within the body and provide significant support to the immune system

Vitamin C: Supports a strong immune system and can be taken in quantity in Foodstate form without any discomfort, unlike ordinary Vitamin C supplements (ascorbic acid). It also supports the structure of connective tissue which improves the health of blood vessels, bones, skin, teeth and gums

Probiotic/prebiotic bacteria, friendly bacteria that help the intestine absorb beneficial nutrients and help remove toxic waste. A healthy gut is intrinsically linked to a healthy body and a stronger immune system

And 1 More To Consider: Beta-Glucans are a specialised antioxidant nutrient with a unique quality to help fight viruses. Beta-Glucans 1,3 and 1,6 help activate the immune system, alerting the body to help defend itself against viral and bacterial invaders. Many healthcare Practitioners use them to help boost patients’ immunity and fight disease.

How do they work?

Flu viruses “bind complement”, which means they stop the part of the immune system that responds to fight viruses - called “complement” - from working. Beta-Glucans actively and specifically inhibit this binding effect and so ensure activation of the immune system in response to the viral invader. Infection from most viruses takes about 48 hours after the virus has entered the body, (but we are being advised that it’s a longer incubation period with the Coronavirus). If the immune system is activated it will prevent the virus from replicating, so effectively the flu symptoms will not start.

Diet:

We can’t underestimate the importance of a healthy diet in strengthening the body’s immune system

Adopt an Alkaline Diet: Most healthy foods are alkaline-forming rather than acid-forming. An Acidic body is a sickness magnet, and holistic healthcare practices all around the world focus on improving health by adopting an alkaline lifestyle. Human blood pH should be slightly alkaline (7.35 - 7.45).  Below or above this range means symptoms and disease.  A pH of 7.0 is neutral, below 7.0 is acidic and above 7 is alkaline

What Causes an Acidic pH? The most common causes are an acid forming diet, emotional stress, toxic overload and any process that deprives the cells of oxygen and other nutrients

Why is an Acidic balance dangerous?  It decreases the body’s ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients, it decreases energy production in the cells, it decreases its ability to repair damaged cells, it decreases its ability to detoxify heavy metals, it allows tumour cells to thrive and it makes the body more susceptible to fatigue and illness

To Maintain Health: The diet should consist of 60% alkaline and 40% acid forming foods

To Restore Health: The diet should consist of 80% alkaline and 20% acid forming foods

Lemon – The Perfect Start To The Day: Squeeze have a fresh lemon in to warm (not hot) water and consume before eating or drinking anything else in the morning. It is nutritious, great for the digestion and very alkaline-forming
