This group of nutrients is fundamental to human health, yet concerns of depleted farm soils go back to 1936, when the USA Senate saw the growing problem of farming and nutrition.

Here is a quote from the 74th Congress, 2nd Session:

"The alarming fact is that foods, fruits, vegetables and grains, now being grown on millions of acres of land, no longer contain enough of certain minerals. No man of today can eat enough fruits and vegetables to supply his system with the minerals he requires for perfect health because his stomach isn't big enough to hold them".

The 1992 Earth Summit Report found that mineral depletion of the soil is over 72% in Europe and 85% in the USA. Since 1992 more than 1 billion humans have joined us on this planet so these figures will only be getting worse

Why should we only take Foodstate minerals? If you consider the minerals in our soil, they exist in inorganic form, in fact the easiest way to picture them are as miniature rocks. We can’t benefit from eating miniature rocks but plants can, and once they have absorbed these inorganic structures through their roots they convert them in to food minerals – we eat the plant (or we eat the animal that eats the plant) and the benefit passes to us. Guess what 99% of mineral supplements are? Yup – these miniature rocks!

Let’s have a look at the important functions of our Foodstate Minerals:

  1. Calcium: We always associate calcium with strong bones and teeth, and of course that is an important role of calcium, but it is also important for muscle contraction, nerve conduction, the beating of the heart, blood coagulation, glandular secretion, energy metabolism and maintenance of immune function

  2. GTF Chromium: If you or your children are inclined to eat too much refined sugar then it’s worth taking GTF (glucose tolerance factor) Chromium because it helps us regulate blood glucose levels and helps treat and prevent type 2 diabetes. We also add important antioxidants which support heart function. Chromium also helps us metabolise carbs, fats and protein. Our Chromium is cultivated from a food base of hydroponically grown broccoli

  3. Iron & Molybdenum: Iron combines with protein and copper to make haemoglobin which carries oxygen in the blood from the lungs to the tissues. It also helps with energy metabolism, with the production of neuro-transmitters, it supports the immune system and helps us metabolise B vitamins. You might need extra iron if you are a teenager experiencing rapid growth, if you drink a lot of tea or coffee, if you are pregnant, anaemic or suffer with heavy menstruation. The most common supplemental form is ferrous sulphate, a very poor quality form of iron that is taken in high dose and prone to causing constipation. Molybdenum is a mineral that assists in iron absorption

  4. Magnesium: Magnesium deficiency is one of the most common mineral deficiencies in the Western world which is a concern because it is involved in more than 300 functions in the human body, including strengthening bones and teeth, healthy eyes and ears, efficient digestive and excretory systems, the creation of energy, healthy muscles, a healthy nervous system and improved sleep – to name a few!

  5. Selenium: If there is one simple thing we can do to reduce our chances of contracting cancer it is to take 200mcg of Selenium every day. Research has shown time and time again that this micro-mineral provides protection against many common cancers. Selenium is an effective antioxidant and supports the heart, joints and bones, hair, skin and nervous system

  6. Zinc & Copper: Zinc is another mineral that has been desperately depleted from farm soils. It improves the health of skin and nails, enhances the immune system, the digestive system and male fertility

Why Foodstate?

To be able to absorb, use and retain these minerals we need to consume them in a form that our bodies recognise. There is little point in taking mineral supplements that provide these minerals in their basic rock form because we simply don’t have receptor sites for inorganic rocks! We need fully formed food nutrients if we want to enjoy the extraordinary benefits they impart

Be Healthy in 2020: If you want to improve your health, improve the function of your immune system and look and feel better, then we strongly recommend that you cover your nutritional needs with supplemental Foodstate minerals. This important group of nutrients has been significantly reduced from our farm soils, and if they are not in the plant they are not in us, and our immune systems suffer as a result
