Vitamin E – A Powerful Antioxidant

Vitamin E – A Powerful Antioxidant

We often read about B vitamins, Vitamin C and Vitamin D, but, rather undeservedly, less is written about Vitamin E, yet it is the most powerful antioxidant vitamin available to us

Unlike Vitamin C, we can store Vitamin E in the body. It is fat-soluble and naturally occurs in cereals, vegetable oils, raw seeds, nuts and soya-beans

Vitamin E supplements only give us 12% of the ingredients in real Vitamin E. There is a very important message here regarding Vitamin E supplements:

  • Most are synthetic and come from petro-chemicals or soy – in particular genetically modified soy containing undesirable herbicides that damage the immune and reproductive systems

  • Taking large amounts of just one tocopherol (especially the synthetic one) depletes the body of the other 7 Vitamin E ingredients

Supplements: The majority of Vitamin E supplements are poor value for money because they only contain 1 of eight components of food (and Foodstate) Vitamin E. Vitamin E occurs in nature as 4 Tocopherols and 4 Tocotrienols, yet in supplemental form most Vitamin E products only contain 1 of the 8 ingredients, either d-alpha tocopherol, which is a more natural form, or dl-alpha tocopherol, which is a synthetic form. Although “d” is better than “dl”, in both instances you are still only getting 1 of 8 Vitamin E components. Our Foodstate Vitamin E contains all 8!

What does Vitamin E do?

  • It helps to maintain the health of blood vessels, especially arterial muscle tone

  • It helps to maintain skin elasticity

  • It helps to reduces tissue injury from ischaemia (i.e. lack of oxygen)

  • It supports your body's immune system - a very powerful antioxidant

  • It helps to promote a healthy reproductive system

  • It helps in the assimilation of vitamin A

Why might you choose to take extra Vitamin E?

  • To promote healing

  • If you lead a busy and hectic lifestyle

  • To help support your immune system

  • It may be helpful in promoting vascular health

Why are Antioxidants Important? Food antioxidants are fundamental to human health because they bind to toxins (free radicals) and remove them from the body. Toxic overload is prevalent in society today and is caused by poor diet, heavy metals, stress and medications, to name a few. Toxic overload damages the immune system and causes disease

Can you get Vitamin E from your diet? Yes, mainly from raw nuts, seeds and oils. Hazel nuts and almonds are a good source, as are sunflower seeds and nuts

Should you supplement? Yes if you don’t have many nuts, seeds and virgin oils in your diet

Why The Foodstate Company Formulation?

There is a very important message here regarding Vitamin E supplements:

  • Most are synthetic and come from petro-chemicals or soy – in particular genetically modified soy containing undesirable herbicides that damage the immune and reproductive systems

  • Taking large amounts of just one tocopherol (especially the synthetic one) depletes the body of the other 7 Vitamin E ingredients

  • Foodstate Vitamin E, which is grown in a base of yellow pea, contains all 4 tocopherols and 4 tocotrienals, working in complete harmony, as nature expects

  • Because ours is in food form, the nutrients are presented to the body in the same form as they are in food. Food state nutrients have been tested by independent laboratories who found that they:

  1. Are significantly better absorbed, longer retained and better used than standard chemical supplements

  2. Do not need to be taken with food as it contains all the necessary food factors needed for absorption

  3. Have no known allergic reactions

  4. Are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans
